Welcome to the site of the Jerusalem American International School (JAIS), serving students from preschool (age 3) through grade 12 (age 18). JAIS is a branch of the Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel (located in Even Yehuda – www.wbais.net). Both schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA).
We welcome all inquiries and strongly encourage on-site visits and informational interviews. Please contact the head of school to schedule your visit by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org today.
|ENCOURAGING FULL ACADEMIC POTENTIAL
JAIS has high academic standards and offers a challenging program from preschool through high school, culminating with an accredited American high school diploma.
JAIS fosters a student-centered environment characterized by supportive relationships that inspire students to achieve academic potential, think creatively, show initiative, assume responsibility, develop a passion for life-long learning, and contribute actively to society. Our students consistently score in the top percentiles on standardized testing (NWEA Measures of Academic Progress – MAP) when compared with norm groups from the USA.
|NURTURING A WARM, CREATIVE ENVIRONMENT
JAIS is known for its family environment and vibrant learning community. We believe that the critical components of a student’s development include social, emotional, academic, and non-academic pursuits. We offer extensive programs, in art, music, modern language, computer technology, conflict mediation, and physical education in order to enrich our students’ experience and equip them with essential critical and creative thinking skills necessary to create global leaders for the 21st century.
JAIS has students from over 40 countries around the world. Our community highly values its ability to learn and be exposed to languages, cultures and religions from all over. It is an opportunity for students unlike any other. Although JAIS is a secular school, we cherish the students’ desire to celebrate and honor each others’ holidays and traditions throughout the year. In learning from one another, JAIS encourages this unique environment of mutual understanding and respect. Our community’s strength resides in a unity of such diversity.
